Two GameTrailers interviews from GDC

GameTrailers.com just posted two new video interviews where I talk about SpyParty.

First, this interview by Ryan Stevens is cut to just be me talking about the game and my goals, and it has some footage of people playing from the IGF booth at GDC:

Next up, Geoff Keighley interviewed me, Jonathan Blow, and Markus Persson about indie games on the Bonus Round this month. This is Part 1, and the parts will come weekly:

Sorry about the ads.

The comments on the Bonus Round one are kind of funny. Almost everybody is a) really interested in indie games and glad that they’re getting coverage like this, and b) kind of blown away by how fast I talk.

Nice. You already started working on network-code O:)?

It’s worth seeing that annoying Crysis 2 trailer for the millionth time just to hear you talk so excitedly about SpyParty (even if it’s stuff I’ve heard and read before) and your take on the ‘indie’ label. Thanks so much for posting all this! To everyone else that comes here, it’s worth it too to check out Chris’s Website and his interesting lectures.

Wow! You talk *fast*, but still very clear. Very impressive. Should you not succeed with SpyParty you should consider giving a career in hip hop a try.

    Hello Chris,

thank you so much for all the talks that you post online!

I have one question – do you think there’s a way to find some interesting  “behavioral-kind-of-game” ideas (mechanics) by prototyping bots in the Sims?

I think you mentioned Sims in one of your talks.

    Your are my hero!

    Thank you

    Jakub

Hah, thanks! :) Yeah, I think doing work in the Sims is definitely a good way to poke around with behavioral gameplay. I’ve thought about open sourcing some chunk of SpyParty after I ship that would let other developers prototype “normal people games”. It’ll be a while before that happens, though.
